This project was a collaborative effort that investigates how to couple senior living with urban farming to revitalize an industrial site and neighborhood with the theme of agricultural sustainability. A parking deck wraps the site in order to provide ease of circulation and to minimize travel distance between parking and residential areas. The urban farming component wraps the southeast and southwest sides of the site gaining optimized solar orientation. Three residential towers occupy the site and the units have a dynamic double glazed facade system. The hangar door provides both sun control and privacy, while the interior glazed nanawall provides the double layer for thermal control.
