This case study analysis is of the Leavingood Residence by architects Paul Marvin Rudolph & Ralph Twitchell. Site context, spatial design, and the unity between these elements organize the rectangular structure. Various orthogonal shapes and geometries compose the spaces that interlock and evolve around each other; therefore, creating connections between interior and exterior spaces. The mass of the house cantilevers over functional two-story spaces below and is supported by hollow steel pipe columns. A two-story patio compliments circulation. In addition to the screened areas, wooded louvers and jalousie windows flatter airflow throughout the elongated house.
